Well, to make my life a lot easier, and… well, that’s mostly it, actually, I am moving this page and its contents to www.dragonlilygardens.com! Events will be loaded soon, and all the other info will be there as well! Please check it out and let me know if any feedback you may have! This site will remain “alive”, but I will no longer be posting here, so mosey on over and let me know what you think!
Cheers, and Happy Harvesting!
On Sunday, September 30th, from 1-3pm, West Coast Seeds will be hosting their Open Garden Forum.
West Coast Seeds’ garden expert Mark Macdonald will be on hand to discuss the 2012 season and vegetable trials. He’ll talk about some of his favourite books and online resources related to gardening, and then try to answer any and all of your gardening questions. Bring stories of successes and failures, and join in on a lively group discussion on general gardening themes.
(Free for all – limited to 30 people, so please pre-register)
On September 23, from 1-3pm, West Coast Seeds will be hosting their Cover Cropping Seminar.
Learn how to improve your soil’s structure and fertility, how to combat weeds, how to prevent soil erosion, how to create habitat and forage for overwintering beneficials, and even suppress insect pests—all by employing cover crops. These marvelous plants will do the work for you, and then provide masses of material for your compost. Master Gardener Brian Campbell will reveal which plants to use and when to use them, either on the farm or in the home garden. ($15.00)

One more follower till we have 600 people getting updates on this site! Amazing!
Back when I started this site in 2010, I had big dreams for sure, but like a garden, the site has morphed according to its own design, and has gone places I never imagined for it!
I’m excited to announce that I will be writing monthly articles for an Apple production (link to come soon), and will be posting the articles here as well. The articles (and accompanying videos–who am I?!?) will contain homemade, natural, homegrown recipes and remedies along with lots of fun facts and how-to instructionals. Do I have time for this? Somewhere between 5-6am, sure. Time to hire a cook–this girl needs to actually eat what she grows. Also soon to come: lessons on living slowly. Uh huh. Try not to spurt all over your computer screen at me.
